Vestas Receives 148 MW Order from Sweden

Danish wind energy company Vestas received a 148 megawatt firm and unconditional order from renewable energy company OX2 Wind for the Lehtirova wind farm in northern Sweden, the company announced on Thursday.

Vestas will supply a quantity of 41 turbines each with 3.45 megawatts in capacity which can be optimized to 3.6 megawatts.

This is the third time OX2 has placed an order for Vestas turbines in 2016.

"With the Lehtirova wind farm, we will further strengthen our long-standing relationship with Vestas as well as our market position in Northern Europe as a leading developer. Lehtirova will be OX2’s largest wind power project to date, and we look forward to building it together with Vestas," said Paul Stormoen, managing director of OX2 Wind.

Delivery of the turbines is expected to start in the second quarter of 2018.
