Membership to the Institute is open to any applicant who is professionally involved in the energy field. This covers all different forms of energy, from power generation and hydrocarbons to energy conservation and renewable energy sources.
Membership to the Institute is open to any applicant who is professionally involved in the energy field. This covers all different forms of energy, from power generation and hydrocarbons to energy conservation and renewable energy sources. Membership is also open to professionals involved in other fields such as law, banking, insurance and investment which are related to the energy sector.
The following categories of membership are currently available:
(a) Young professionals (for young graduates up to 27 years old)
(b) Professionals (to all professionals above the age of 27)
(c) Corporate (available only to companies)
(d) Associate (by invitation)
(e) Honorary (by award)
Members who join the Institute enjoy a number of benefits (as described below) but do not have any voting rights. Between them, individuals and corporate members, may nominate up to five representatives who can participate at board meetings and express their views. Through these representatives members have a voice and can influence considerably Institute policy on a number of issues.
