US Group Opens Car Wipers Factory in Romania’s Ploiesti

US company Federal Mogul will inaugurate this Thursday a new factory in Romania, which will produce car windshield wipers.

The plant is located in Ploiesti West Park, and will generate 250 new jobs, reports local Ziarul Financiar. The group started the construction of the plant in April last year.

Federal Mogul also has a factory that produces brake pads in Ploiesti West Park. The investment in the brake pad factory was initiated by the US group Honeywell. However, the company sold its brake pad division to Federal Mogul last year for USD 155 million. The deal was completed in the second part of last year. The Ploiesti plant was part of the transaction.

Besides Honeywell’s initial USD 58 million investment in the brake pads factory, Federal Mogul invested another EUR 9 million in installing a fourth production line.
