Update regarding the IΕΝΕ and Covid-19

In light of latest developments in relation to Covid-19 and efforts around the world and the EU in particular to control its spread, the Institute has already taken (since March 14) a number of measures to safeguard the health and well being of its staff and external associates as well as the community. At the same time IENE continues to provide uninterrupted, as far as possible, services to its members and partners.

In line with the advice of the Greek Government, most of the IENE staff team in Athens has moved to homeworking until further notice. IENE’s office in downtown Athens is still open, operating with a skeleton staff and with the daily presence on alternative dates of one or two staff members. Members and associates may contact IENE by email or phone and also continue to use all its digital services as usual.

The main impact of social distancing measures is on physical events and meetings. Consequently, IENE has cancelled all its planed events until the end of June and a revised programme for 2H 2020 will be announced once conditions have returned to normal. Hence, the IENE will not be holding face-to-face events, meetings or training in Greece or anywhere else until further notice. Where possible IENE will organize events online and separate announcements will be made to that effect.

As IENE tries to adapt to the new working conditions there are bound to be minor adjustments to communication protocols and therefore we ask members and associates to bear with us while we try to respond to the new reality. While for most people Covid-19 may not result in a serious illness, we are taking all precautionary steps in line with the latest official guidance.

We will keep Members and Associatesupdated as the situation develops. In the meantime we wish to members, associates and friends to stay safe and well.
