Naftogaz of Ukraine confirmed on Tuesday it sent a letter to the Russian gas holding Gazprom with a request to resume supplies of Russian natural gas.

Gazprom received a letter from Ukraine’s Naftogaz requesting resumption of natural gas supplies, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian gas holding Alexey Miller said earlier on Tuesday. The period of nine months was meant - the second half of 2016 and the first quarter of 2017, he added.
Ukraine stopped buying Russian gas in November 2015. Naftogaz of Ukraine may resume import of gas from Russia in the third quarter of 2016 if a discount is offered, CEO of the company Andrei Kobolev said on June 6.
