Turkish Petroleum Oil Distribution Company (TP), Turkey's state-owned fuel oil network will deliver and sell liquefied petroleum gas, head of the company said Friday.
TP's head said that the company will deliver LPG to its gas stations starting from the first month of 2016.
The company's first goal is to make a swift entry in theLPG sector, Mutlu Gul told Anadolu Agency adding thatTP will at first begin gas deliveriesto itsown stations and thereafter toother companies.
TP currently has 364 gas stations across Turkey and is the second biggest distributor reaching the majority ofstationsin the country.The company aimsto increase the number of its stationsto 450 by the end of this year, Gul emphasized
He also announced that the company will give new distributor ship across the country for mineral oil sales.
The company will install LPG facilities in its two fuel filling facilities,one of which will be connected by sea and the other will be connected to TUPRAS, Turkey's oil refiner.
LPGrepresents a 40.6 percent share in the country's car fuel usage mix, which includes 10.4 million cars.
Turkey's natural gas demand has increased threefold in the last 13 years from 17 billion cubic meters to over 50 billion and is used in72 out of Turkey's total 81provinces.
Turkey imported 267,244 tons of LPGfrom 10 different countries in December 2015- Algeria, Russia, Kazakhstan, Norway,France,Ukraine, Georgia, Malta, U.S. and Romania, according to the Energy Marketing Regulatory Authority's latest LPG market report.
