Turkish diesel and gasoline prices increased by an average of 0.05 liras after the expiration of the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority's ceiling price implementation on gasoline and diesel prices on Tuesday.
After two months' operation of the ceiling prices in gasoline and diesel, the practice expired on Tuesday,Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority,EMRA, announced in a written statement Monday.
In the Turkish capital Ankara, gasoline will be sold at 4.63 to4.65liras per liter, at4.62 to4.63liras per liter in Izmir and prices will increase to 4.60 to4.61lirasin Istanbul.
In addition, diesel oil prices will also increase in the country by an average of 0.05 liras per liter.
In capital Ankara, diesel prices will rise to 4.00 to4.01liras per liter, while pricesin Izmir andIstanbulwill increase to 3.94 to3.95liras per liter.
The price of gasoline was 5.14 liras per liter on average in June, and fell around 10percent since thendue to the steep decline incrude oil prices.
Oil prices have fallen almost 50percent on average in the last tenmonths,their fastest divesince 2008, due to oversupply and lowoil demand in the world's markets.
