Turkey's Turcas, German Innogy sign MoU on renewables

Turkey's Turcas Petrol and Germany's Innogy, a subsidiary of RWE AG, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in renewable energy projects, according to Turcas late on Monday.

Turcas in a statement sent to Turkey's Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) said the agreement was also made for cooperation in solar and wind as well as for energy storage investments.

RWE AG has already partnered with Turcas since 2009 in the 800-megawatt Denizli combined cycle natural gas power plant.

Innogy operates in renewable energy, energy distribution and retail sales and is quoted on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2016.

"The signed MoU is a strategic fit for Turcas considering our commitment to diversify our power generation portfolio via renewable investments, evaluate innovative investments like energy storage, and also to diversify geographically," Turcas announced.
