Turkey's LPG Law Sets Global Standard: Ipragaz CEO

Turkey's LPG law sets an example for many countries which want follow the same model such as Poland and India, said Selim Siper, CEO of Turkish energy company Ipragaz on Friday.

Siper who is also president of the Turkish LPG Association told Anadolu Agency that the Turkish LPG market has very different actors and different trading styles but claimed it is a well-regulated and efficiently functioning market.

He explained that the Turkish LPG market has advanced ahead compared to other LPG markets. What makes it unique is that it has its own laws of governance and has a overseeing body in the form of Turkey's energy watchdog, EMRA.

He said that the Turkish LPG structure sets an example for other countries on the international platform and added that, "Until now, at least 9-10 countries have asked for the English version of the Turkish LPG law. South Africa, Poland, India and China are some of them. This fills us with pride."

Siper, who has been the CEO of Ipragaz for 16 years, has been elected as the president of the Turkish LPG association while Yagiz Eyuboglu, chief executive officer of Aygaz was elected as the vice president of the executive board in March, 2015.

Turkish LPG Association's board consists of nine members, including its president and the vice president.
