Turkey's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports decreased by 1.76% to 251 thousand tonnes in April 2019 compared to the same month of 2018, according to the latest data revealed by the country's energy watchdog on Monday.
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority's (EMRA) data showed that imports to Turkey came from Algeria, Kazakhstan, the U.S., Norway, Russia, Netherlands, the U.K., Saint Kitts and Nevis and Spain. Turkey's LPG production increased in April to approximately 84 thousand tonnes - a year-on-year increase of 41.72%.
Exports also increased by nearly 96.53% to 17 thousand tonnes this April compared to April 2018. Total LPG sales reached approximately 329 thousand tonnes in April -- a 2.53% decrease, including 262 thousand tonnes of autogas, 59 thousand tonnes of bottled LPG, and 7 thousand tonnes of bulk LPG.
