Turkey's natural gas imports decreased by 10.4 percent in October from a year earlier, according to the Turkish energy watchdog's data released on Friday.
Imports fell to 3.71 billion cubic meters (bcm) from 4.14 bcm in October 2017, Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly natural gas market report. The country imported 3 bcm of natural gas via pipeline, while 0.7 bcm was purchased as LNG in October this year, EMRA's data shows.
Turkey's total gas consumption decreased by 15.4 percent to 3.44 bcm in October this year from 4.07 bcm in October 2017. The amount of natural gas in storage increased by 5.2 percent to 3.36 bcm in October 2018 from 3.19 bcm in October last year.
Gas production rose to 36.7 million cubic meters (mcm) over the same period, up from 29.1 mcm in October 2017.
