Turkey's crude oil imports rose by 29.5 % to 2.69 million tonnes in September 2019 compared to the same month of 2018, according to Turkish energy watchdog's data.
The country imported the most crude oil from Iraq at 981,535 tonnes in September. Russia and Kazakhstan followed with 945,148 tonnes and 366,245 tonnes, respectively, Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly oil market report.
The country's total import of oil products increased by 17.2 % in September to 3.93 million tonnes compared to September 2018. Oil refinery product output increased by 34.5% to 3.20 million tonnes. In addition, diesel production was down up 46.5% reaching nearly 1.27 million tonnes, while gasoline production was up 16.9%, reaching nearly 460,914 tonnes.
In September, total domestic fuel sales rose by 8.2 % to 2.63 million tonnes compared to the same month last year.
