Turkey Publishes Deadline for YEKA Project Wind Offers

The deadline for submission of investors' final offers for Turkey's Wind Renewable Energy Resources Area Project (YEKA) is set as July 27, according to the announcement in Turkey's Official Gazette.

The participants will give their last offers to Turkey's Renewable Energy Directorate for the country's largest wind power plant that plans to have 1,000 megawatts of installed capacity.

The tender, the date of which will be announced later, will be held in reverse auction and the ceiling price for one kilowatt-hour has been set as $0.07. The investor who submits the lowest bid in the tender will win.

The successful bidder will sign an energy purchase agreement for 15 years starting from the date of signature.

"We completed our preparations for the tender specifications. The plant will then require investors to have over 65 percent local production and to have engineers, 80 percent of whom will be employed locally," Turkey's Energy Minister Albayrak said.

He added that this would be one of the most important steps for Turkey's previously launched National Energy Strategy.
