Turkey Privatizes Tortum Hydro Plant in East Anatolia

Has-Kar Engineering and Trade company won the tender for the privatization of the Tortum hydropower plant with an installed capacity of 26.2 megawatts located in Erzurum in eastern Anatolia, Turkey's privatization administration announced Tuesday in Ankara.

The company won the tender with a final bid offer of 56 million liras for the hydro plant.

A minimum bid offer limit was set at 50 thousand and an opening bid started at 54 million liras.

In total, three companies participated in the tender, and after bidding rounds, two companies proceeded to the final bid round.

US$1 equals 3.85 Turkish liras, according to Turkey's Central Bank data.
