Mick Stump has been appointed as the new president of BP Turkey, replacing former president Bud Fackrell, the company announced on Monday.
BP said that Fackrell, who is also BP's vice president for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey and president of BP Turkey has resigned from his post as of June 1, as he wanted to retire.
Stump, who will replace Fackrell has 35 years' experience in the oil and gas industry.
Stump said in a written statement that Turkey is a very important and strategic country for BP.
"BP is in Turkey for 104 years. We contribute to Turkey's economic development and energy market. I'm very excited for my new post," he said.
Stump has worked for BP since 1981 and his career has taken him to work in many countries including the U.K., the U.S. and Egypt in the production and exploration sectors.
