The 2nd international conference on “Türkiye Oil and Gas” was successfully held at the Marriott Marmara Hotel in Istanbul on December 13&14. This was a major regional energy event which attracted more than 50 speakers and 200 delegates from all over Europe, SEE, the Black Sea and the Middle East
The subjects covered included unlocking the potential for oil and gas in the Black Sea countries, the regulatory framework, investment incentives and partnership opportunities. Also, the conference included diverse technical issues such as driving efficiency and innovation, technological advancements in upstream, midstream and downstream sectors. Investment horizons and competitive gas markets were two other major issues discussed in this international energy gathering.
Following an invitation by the organisers, the Vostock Capital, the chairman and Executive Director of IENE, Costis Stambolis participated as a keynote speaker at the conference. In his presentation Costis Stambolis covered the whole oil and gas sector investment outlook in SE Europe, including the Black Sea countries and then focused on Greece. According to IENE data and analysis the energy investment outlook in the region has been steadily improving over the last 5 years, registering a 58,5% increase since 2017 and exceeding € 430 billion in total for the whole energy sector in the 15 country group, including Türkiye, which the Institute covers statistically.
