Norwegian energy giant Statoil completed its previously announced transaction to increase its share of German oil and gas company Wintershall's Byrding oil and gas discovery project on the Norwegian continental shelf, Statoil announced Tuesday.
Statoil acquired a 25 percent interest in Wintershall's Byrding oil and gas discovery project, and as a result, has increased its interest in the project from 45 percent to 70 percent.
The field is projected to come on-stream in the third quarter of 2017.
