Serbia Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic spoke in the Romanian city of Craiova with prime ministers of Romania and Bulgaria Victor Ponta and Boyko Borisov about infrastructure projects and cooperation in the fields of energy and transport. Addressing the reporters after the trilateral meeting, Vucic thanked the prime ministers of Romania and Bulgaria on their support to Serbia on its European path.
Together we can achieve much and our three countries will be best able
to protect our economic and political interests. This is a strategic
territory in south-eastern Europe and I am convinced that the formation
of Craiova Group will be of historic significance, he said.
Ponta explained that at today's meeting it was agreed to set up Craiova
Group, whose founding members are Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria, and
added that it will serve as a foundation for better cooperation and
promoting economic, social and political interests of the three
countries.
We are open to other countries of the Western Balkans, because united we
can achieve much more, the Prime Minister of Romania underlined. He reiterated that Romania gives full support to Serbia on its European path.
Bulgaria and Romania have been EU members for eight years and that was
our most important decision and the best political solution, Ponta said
and pointed out that that is why they support Serbia to become a member
of the European family, because it is the best for her, but also for
Bulgaria and Romania.We know that Prime Minister Vucic is decided to make a fast progress on
this road and we are offering him full support, Ponta stated. Borisov said that cooperation on infrastructure projects is of greatest
importance for all three countries and welcomed the decision to set up
Craiova Group.
I want the Bucharest-Sofia-Belgrade motorway to be completed as soon as
possible, as well as faster railways that will take us to Turkey. These
projects are good not only for our three countries, but for entire
Europe too, he underlined.
Borisov said that Serbia is Bulgaria’s best neighbour and that the
Bulgarian government will do everything to help Serbia complete
