Serbia, Qatar Look to Cooperate in the Fields of Energy, Mining

Serbia's Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic met with Ambassador of Qatar to Serbia Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Al-Thani, who conveyed his personal wish, as well as of the government of Qatar, to improve the overall economic relations between the two countries, especially in the fields of energy and mining, where he sees considerable opportunities.A statement by the Ministry of Mining and Energy says that the Ambassador of Qatar informed Minister Antic about the agreements that have already been signed and those that are in the process of negotiation, such as the Agreement on economic cooperation between the two governments, and on the abolition of visas for diplomatic and official passports.

To that end, the Ambassador of Qatar asked the Minister of Energy and Mining that the Serbian side forwards its Draft agreement on cooperation between the Serbian Ministry of Mining and Energy and the Qatari Ministry of Energy.

He also invited Minister Antic on his own behalf and that of the Qatari Minister of Energy to visit Qatar, when the agreement in question could be signed.

He agreed that the signing of the cooperation agreement between the two ministries is a basis for defining joint projects for future cooperation, as well as for investments of the interested Qatari financial institutions and the implementation of projects of common interest in the fields of energy and mining.

Also, Antic informed the Ambassador of Qatar that the Ministry of Mining and Energy will soon submit the Serbian Draft cooperation agreement between the two ministries, it is added in the statement reports the Government.
