Saudi, Egyptian Co. Buys Burdur Solar Plant in Turkey

The Al Aboud Holding Company, with origins from Saudi Arabia and Egypt, recently acquired the Burdur Solar Energy Power Plant (Burdur GES) recently, the former Turkish owner, Tekno Ray Solar announced Tuesday.

According to former owner Tekno Ray Solar of Turkey, the power plant has 6.6 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity and aimed to avoid releasing 6.7 thousand tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.

Al Aboud Holding aims to invest more than 50 MW of installed capacity by 2018 in Turkey, the company statement read.

Burdur GES has been operating since December 2016 and is located in a 125 thousand square meters region in Turkey's southwestern province of Burdur.

The plant plans to generate up to 11 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
