Project Company for Bulgaria-Greece Gas Interconnector Has New Executive Director

The Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) decided to replace the executive director of ICGB AD company, the project company for the construction of the gas connector between Bulgaria and Greece, BEH said in a press release Wednesday. Valentin Hambarliev replaces Theodora Georgieva.
The replacement is motivated by the need for speedier pace in the implementation of the project. Actual construction of the interconnector is to commence at the start of 2018, and the facility is expected to commissioned in early 2020, or Bulgaria risks losing an agreement on supply of one billion cubic metres of natural gas from Azerbaijan and the EU funding for the project, the press release says.
