Oil Rig Count in US up by 4 This Week

The number of oil rigs in the U.S. increased by 4 this week, according to data released by oilfield services company Baker Hughes on Friday. Number of oil rigs, which indicates short-term production for near future, increased by 4 to reach 667 for the week ending Dec.13, from 663 in the previous week.

International benchmark Brent crude closed Friday at $65.40 per barrel with a 1.12% increase. American benchmark West Texas Intermediate ended the session at $57.95 a barrel with a 1.01% daily gain.
