Montenegrin company Synergy
has put into operation the 615 kW small-sized hydro power plant (SHPP) Vrelo in
the municipality of Bijelo Polje, the municipal authorities said on Monday.
The 1.7 million euro ($1.9 million) power plant, located in the village of
Lijeska, is planned to have annual output of 2.7 GWh of electricity, the
municipality said on its website.
"We have another project in progress, plans for one large project whose
concession is currently suspended and four small hydro power plants whose
construction has already drawn interest from investors," the mayor of
Bijelo Polje Aleksandar Zuric said.
Montenegro granted Synergy the permit to build the Vrelo power plant in May
2012.
