IENE’s Executive Director Visits Cyprus Ahead of the Annual 3rd Cyprus Energy Symposium On March 5-6 the Institute’s Executive Director Mr. Costis Stambolis visited Cyprus in view of the forthcoming joint IENE – FMW Energy Symposium which the two organizations are convening in Nicosia on March 27-28. This is the third consecutive year that IENE is joining forces with Cyprus based Financial Media Way (FMW), a corporate communications company, to organize this unique event (see conference banner on this site for detailed information and the Symposium’s programme)

On March 5-6 the Institute’s Executive Director Mr. Costis Stambolis visited Cyprus in view of the forthcoming joint IENE – FMW Energy Symposium which the two organizations are convening in Nicosia on March 27-28. During his two day visit Costis Stambolis participated in a joint IENE-FMW press conference which took place at the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) on March 5th where he was joined by Mr. Iosif Iosif, CEO of Financial Media Way and CCCI’s Chairman Mr. Phidias Pilidis. Later in the evening he was interviewed for the main news programme by local TV channel ANT1 Cyprus which is media partner of the Symposium along with nomisma.com.cy and Energia.Gr, and the Phileleftheros and Cyprus Weekly newspapers.

While in Cyprus IENE’s Executive Director also had meetings with the management of some of the islands leading energy companies including the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC), Noble Energy International, Solon Kassinis Associates and with the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry, and Tourism. Lately, Cyprus features highly in IENE’s agenda on account of the annual Symposium but also because several Cyprus based companies are corporate members of IENE including the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC), the Quantum Energy Co, the Photos Photiades group of companies and others. While in Nicosia, Mr. Stambolis discussed the possibility with FMW of organizing the "2nd Energy and Geopolitics, Roundtable” in Nicosia next autumn.
