IENE’s Electricity Committee Convenes Under New Chairman

The 8th meeting of IENE’s Electricity Scientific Committee took place on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 18:00, at the Institute’s offices. The meeting was chaired by Dr. George Syntzanakis, a well-respected Mechanical- Electrical Engineer, Member of IENE's Board of Directors and former senior executive of Greece’s Public Power Company (PPC).

The Chairman of IENE, Mr. John Chadjivasiliadis, opened the meeting by presenting the new chairman of the Institute’s Electricity Committee to the committee’s members. A lively discussion followed focusing on latest developments in Greece’s problematic electricity market but also on key regional issues including the operation of the Greece-Italy electricity connection. Furthermore, the committee discussed the subjects that the group will focus on at its future meetings.

The 8th meeting of IENE’s Electricity Scientific Committee was attended by Mr. Kostas Kouklelis, Chairman of the Hellenic Union of Industrial Consumers of Energy (UNICEN), Dr. Giorgos Stamtsis, Deputy General Manager at Hellenic Association of Independent Power Producers, Mr. Konstantinos Konstantellos, Mechanical- Electrical Engineer, Mr. John Chadjivasiliadis, Chairman of IENE and others. It was agreed that the next meeting will take place in early January in Athens.
