This year’s annual General Meeting of the Institute’s Partners took place on Wednesday, July 27 and was held exclusively online. Twenty five, out of 42 partners, actually participated. Most countries in the region were fully represented including Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina,Cyprus,Greece, Montenegro, North Macedonia,Romania, Serbia and Turkey. With this number constituting a quorum the AGM proceeded with the agreed agenda starting approximately at 18:10 Athens time and ending an hour later.
Apart from a detailed briefing by the chairman of IENE, Costis Stambolis, on the Institute’s activities in the first half of 2022, the other important item of the agenda was the approval of the Annual Report for 2021 following submission to all partners several days before.Following a concise presentation of the report and a detailed report of the accounts by and last year’s balance by the chairman, the partners approved unanimously both the AR and the accounts for 2021. Following approval of the AR the partners went ahead and discussed a number of issues related to planned activities in the second half of the year and the need for a new strategy that must be formulated and approved before the end of the year. All partners agreed that as market conditions continuously change and are greatly impacted lately by the mounting energy crisis, there is a clear need for a new strategy to be worked out and adopted ahead of next year.
