As geopolitical tensions in the broader South East European area continue to mount, with two major armed conflicts still unresolved,the impact on energy supplies and prices is strongly felt. The current conflict zones could easily and suddenly implode and may indeed spill over to a wider geographical area which could involve not only SE Europe, but the East Mediterranean and the Black Sea. Areas of immediate concern to the Institute.This is the reason why IENE has decided at short notice to convene a special online seminar in order to discuss the pressing energy security situation in the region.
Entitled “Energy Security in View of Rising Geopolitical Tensions”, the Webinar is scheduled to take place on Monday, December 9, 2024 between 16:00 and 19:00 Athens time. Speakers and panelists from different parts of Europe and the Middle East have already accepted our invitation to participate. The webinar programme is under formulation and will be announced shortly. The Webinar will be held through the zoom platform and invitations to all members will be forwarded well in advance.
