On Wednesday, March 4, the chairman of IENE Costis Stambolis accompanied by Research Fellow Kostis Oikonomopoulos, visited the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, where they were hosted by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEEIT).
During the visit, Costis Stambolis and Kostis Oikonomopoulos in a special event convened by the FEEIT presented the latest findings from the IENE “SE Europe Energy Outlook 2025/2026” to an esteemed group of faculty members, researchers and industry representatives. The presentation highlighted recent developments in regional and global energy markets, key trends in the energy transition, and the evolving role of Southeast Europe within the wider European energy landscape.
The visit was organised by Professor Aleksandra Krkoleva Mateska, vice-president of MAKO-CIGRE and vice-dean of FEEIT, Assistant Professor Vasko Zdraveski, a chair of IEEE PES North Macedonia as well as Professor Vesna Borozan, a partner of IENE, and provided an excellent opportunity for academic exchange and discussion on current energy challenges. Following the presentations a lively discussion ensued chaired and moderated by Professor Aleksandra Krkoleva Mateska. The visit contributed to further strengthening cooperation between the Institute and the academic community of FEEIT and Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje.
