With the Athens Exchange Group, Piraeus Bank and EnSCo as Supporters, an Informative Event on "Green Bonds as a Financing Tool for Low Carbon Emission Projects" is being jointly organized by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and the Institute of Energy for Southeast Europe (IENE) on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 (5:00 PM – 7:30 PM).
The aim of the event is to inform companies engaged in low carbon emission projects (renewable energy sources, improvement of energy efficiency, etc.) on financing options through the issuance of Green Bonds.
The event is held at the amphitheater of the ACCI and participation is free of charge, however, prior registration is required – for registration information click here.
The IENE, having placed the promotion of sustainable development high on its agenda, and in the context of its cooperation with the London-based Climate Bonds Initiative, based in London, has been since 2021 the first organization in Greece, and in Southeast Europe, to receive the status of "Approved Verifier" in compliance with the Climate Bond Standards. This development marks a milestone in the development of the green bond market in Southeast European countries, and IENE has already participated in a series of related certifications for companies in the region that led to the issuance of green bonds.
