IENE’s Scientific Project Co-ordinator, Mr. Nicholas Sofianos, visited Tirana, Albania, on February 10 and 11, 2016, in order to participate in the “HydroTechAlbania 2016” conference, organized by Green World Conferences.
IENE’s Scientific Project Co-ordinator, Mr. Nicholas Sofianos, visited Tirana, Albania, on February 10 and 11, 2016, in order to participate in the "HydroTechAlbania 2016” conference, organized by Green World Conferences.
The conference focused on the development of Albania’s significant hydropower potential and the required investment by companies and donors.
While in Tirana, Mr. Sofianos had meetings with several government officials and company executives. IENE has developed strong links with local energy experts and maintains an active interest in Albania’s energy sector. The Institute has over the last six years organized several conferences and workshops bringing together energy professionals, companies and government agencies. During his stay in Tirana, Mr. Sofianos had a series of meetings with local contacts whereby they jointly examined the possibility of convening an IENE workshop in late spring this year, in order to explore issues related to the further development of Albania’s hydroelectricity infrastructure and power generation.
