The Institute of Energy of Southeast Europe (IENE), in the context of the European Mobility Week is organizing on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, an online conference on "Electric Mobility and Smart Cities".
European Mobility Week is a major European Commission awareness campaign on sustainable urban mobility, promoting change in citizens' attitudes towards active mobility, public transport and other clean and smart transport solutions. The purpose of the actions implemented between 16 and 22 September is to introduce and promote sustainable modes of transport and to raise public awareness on the use of alternative modes of transport in their city. The growing demand for new, innovative, smart mobility technologies is one of the biggest challenges the cities are facing today. Thus, e-mobility and smart infrastructure not only represent new business opportunities but, at the same time, increase the safety and quality of life of citizens, being a dynamic response to the threat of climate change.
The Conference will be attended by top executives from the Greek energy market, with a leading role in promoting e-mobility at academic, business and government level. In particular, at the Conference, contributions will be made, among others, by Ioannis Tselikis, Head of the Independent Electricity Office of the Ministry of Environment and Energy and Special Advisor to the Secretary General for Energy & Mineral Resources, Dr. Eva Nanaki, head of Hellenic Petroleum’s electric mobility division, Dr. George Ageridis, Head of Energy Efficiency at the Center for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving, Anastasios Matikas, E-Mobility Business Development Manager at Hellenic Petroleum, and Stamatis Asimis, Key Projects & New Technologies Manager at Sunlight SA in testing battery manufacturing.
