IENE Actively Participated in “RENPOWER Greece 2023”

Once again, IENE participated in this year’s “Renpower Greece” conference, which took place on May 3, in Athens

The Institute’s Secretary General & Chairman of its Scientific Committee on Energy Efficiency, Mr. Costas Theofylaktos, was the moderator in the 3rd and the 4th of the sessions (5 in total) of the “4th Renpower Greece conference – Powering ahead with big RES & Storage plans”.

The speakers of Session 3, entitled “Energy Storage Solutions (ESS) – The leading investment theme for the current decade”, included Mr. Panagiotis Stamoulis (Market Director Southern EU, Fluence) and Mr. Andreas Gandolfo (Team Leader, European Power Markets, BloombergNEF).

In Session 4 of “Renpower Greece 2023”, on “Delivering a low carbon future – Greece to ramp up Green H2 production and role of the Natural Gas as a transition fuel”, Mr. Panagiotis Panousos (Energy Transition Senior Manager, Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator - DESFA), Mr. Constantinos Papaloucas (Coordinator of the National Hydrogen Committee, Ministry of the Environment & Energy) and Mr. Ulrich Laumanns (Technical Support for the implementation of the National Hydrogen Strategy of Greece - H2Greece, GIZ), took the floor.

The Institute of Energy for SE Europe was a Supporting Organization of “Renpower Greece 2023”, which provided an in-depth overview of the recent bold revision of Greece’s National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP), targeting 28 GW of renewables by 2030.
