Head of OMV Pledges Nord Stream-2 Will be Built in Compliance with Third Energy Package

The second stage of the Nord Stream pipeline can be implemented in accordance with the requirements of the EU Third Energy Package, Chief Executive Officer of OMV Rainer Seele told an energy conference in Vienna.

"We believe that we will build Nord Stream-2 in accordance with the Third Energy Package, " he said.

According to Seele, the policy of the European Commission with regard to the project raises eyebrows.

"It is surprising that the European Commission opposes the project, and does not create the conditions for investment, as if they are drawing some other pipeline in Brussels."
