General Motors Opens Call Center in Bucharest

American carmaker General Motors, which also owns the German car brand Opel, will open a call-center office in Bucharest.

The center will provide assistance to the car owners who have the OnStar service installed, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

General Motors has leased 4,000 sqm in the Skanska Green Court C building, located in the Barbu Vacarescu area. The office space will accommodate some 400 employees.

"We can confirm that our Global Connected Customer Experience team, which currently operates in Luton, UK, plans a second Customer Engagement Center, in Bucharest, to support clients all over Europe who use the OnStar service,” GM Europe officials told local Ziarul Financiar.

OnStar allows users to make emergency calls and to have their cars located in case of accident or theft. The OnStar consultants also provide information about the car’s features, navigation system, and other services.
