Gazprom's Gas Production, Export Volumes Fall Between Jan-Sept 2022

Gazprom's natural gas production between Jan. 1 and Sept. 15 this year decreased 15.9% to 300.8 billion cubic meters compared to the same period last year, Russian energy company Gazprom said Thursday.

Gazprom's natural gas exports to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States also fell by 38.8% during the same period.

Exports totaled 84.8 billion cubic meters from Jan. 1 to Sept. 15.

In a statement on the upcoming winter months, the company said the high occupancy levels in underground natural gas storage facilities in Europe are not a guarantee of a reliable transition in the autumn-winter period or energy security.

The price of natural gas per megawatt-hour on Wednesday's closing for October contracts in Europe, trading on the Netherlands-based virtual natural gas trading point (TTF), showed a 97% rise to €217.88 ($217.47) compared to €72.43 ($72.29) on Jan.3.
