Russia’s state-owned gas giant Gazprom broke its own record in gas supplies to Europe on Friday, with 590 million cubic meters of gas per day, CEO Alexei Miller told reporters on Saturday.
"This week, Gazprom is breaking one record after another in gas supplies to foreign, non-CIS, countries and last Friday was not an exception," Miller said. "On October 21, we registered a new historical maximum level - the company supplied exactly 590 million cubic meters of gas. The previous record of October 20 was surpassed by 2.2 million cubic meters."
Gazprom has start registering historically highest levels of gas supplies to Europe since October 18. Thus, Friday’s record has become the fourth.
Earlier reports said that Russia’s gas exports to non-CIS countries surged by 9.6% from January 1 to October 15, 2016 and totaled 11.8 billion cubic meters (bcm). In particular, natural gas supplies increased by 7% (by 2.4 bcm) to Germany, 21.1% (by 1.5 bcm) to France, by 24.8% (by 0.8 bcm) to Austria, by 53.7% (by 0.7 bcm) to Greece, by 92.5% (1.6 bcm) to the Netherlands and by 148.6% (by 0.8 bcm) to Denmark.
