On 24
June 2015, the EUFORES General Assembly has elected the new EUFORES Board of
Presidents. The new members of the Board are:
- MEP Claude Turmes,
President of EUFORES (re-elected)
- MEP Theresa Griffin,
Vice-President of EUFORES
- MEP Jeppe Kofod,
Vice-President of EUFORES
The new Board will lead EUFORES into the challenging years ahead: topics like
the energy union, new policies on renewables and energy efficiency and the
roll-out to the national parliaments will require strong cross-party alliances.
EUFORES is at the core of this process and the leading parliamentary platform.
In addition, a new EUFORES Extended Board will be created in the coming days to
include even more leading MEPs from all democratic political groups into the
parliamentary network and to strenghten majorities for renewables and
efficiency.
EUFORES thanks the previous Board of Presidents - especially the former
Vice-Presidents Fiona
Hall and Anni Podimata for all the time and dedication that
they put into EUFORES' vision of achieving a sustainable energy future.
