Bulgaria's electricity production jumped by 19.61% on the year to some 6,573 GWh between January 1 and February 16, the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday.
In parallel, domestic power consumption rose by 7.62% year-on-year to 6,265 GWh, ESO said in a weekly data release.
The country's power trade swung to a surplus of 307.6 GWh in the review period from a deficit of roughly 326.6 GWh a year earlier.
In annual terms, the volume of renewable energy in the transmission network grew by 12.9% to nearly 369.4 GWh, whereas the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system advanced by 14.91% to 373.1 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants, however, went down by a yearly 8.01% to 286.9 GWh in the period under review.
