Advent Technologies 2.0: A New Era of Growth and Innovation

Advent Technologies SA, a Greece based technology company, has entered a new era of growth.  Its new board members, Mr. Vasilis Bournas, Mr. Dimosthenis Dimopoulos, and Mr. Konstantinos Ferderigos, bring their strong business experience to Advent. Under the guidance of its parent company’s new CEO, Gary Herman, its new General Manager in Athens, Mr. Ferderigos, and its new Chief of Operations in Patras, George Paloumpis, the Company is adopting a fresh strategic approach and a clear vision for the future.

As part of re-establishing its position within the local Greek community and its stakeholders, the new board held meetings in Kozani over the past two weeks. Specifically, the board met with Stathis Konstantinidis, a New Democracy MP, and Paraskevas Koukoulopoulos, a PASOK MP, with meetings also scheduled with representatives of other parties. Additionally, Advent presented its vision in detail to the regional governor, George Amanatidis, and the mayor of Kozani, Ioannis Kokkaliaris. All parties involved recognized the importance of promoting the Company's goals, emphasizing that their implementation would enhance both local development and the national economy.

Advent relies on a cohesive and specialized team of scientists and engineers who work daily to develop innovative energy production technologies. The Company's research and applications are oriented towards creating pioneering products that will shape future markets.

Through strategic partnerships with global corporations such as Airbus, Hyundai, as well as recognized governmental agencies such as the U.S. Department of Defense and the Los Alamos National Laboratories, Advent is promoting its IonPairTm MEA technology, a highly disruptive technology in the field of fuel cells. The membrane electrode assembly (MEA) is a critical component in a fuel cell. It consists of various layers, including a proton exchange membrane (PEM), catalyst layers, and gas diffusion layers (GDLs). In summary, the MEA is the heart of a fuel cell, allowing the conversion of chemical energy from hydrogen into electrical energy, which can be used to power various applications. This technology promises to revolutionize the energy sector and position the Company at the forefront of clean energy innovation.

The recent recognition and approval of the Company’s 34.5 million euro RHyno project by the EU Innovation Fund, led by Nora Gourdoupi, SVP, Corporate Business Development, with Olga Bereketidou, Head of EU funding and business development, is a significant milestone and a recognition of Advent's innovative efforts, paving the way for new strategic partnerships, which will be announced soon.

Despite past challenges caused by an inexperienced executive and sales team, the Company has remained steadfast in its commitment to advancing and commercializing its technology. Its new executive team is committed to improving the Company’s market position and creating new opportunities for strong revenue growth.

Advent moves forward with optimism and determination about the future, maintaining its role as a leader in the hydrogen fuel cell sector.
Advent Technologies, SA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADN).
