Bulgarian PM Dismisses Deputy Energy Minister

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has dismissed Deputy Energy Minister Anton Pavlov, the government's press office has said.

In a statement to the media, no reason has been cited for the move.

Recently, Pavlov's single public "appearance" was in an interview with Russian newspaper "Izvestiya", where he says Bulgaria will demand the extension of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, which in his words should have a leg linked to a Bulgaria-based gas hub.

Turkish Stream is the successor project to the South Stream gas pipeline, which Russian President Vladimir Putin ditched in December of last year, citing Bulgaria's reluctance to issue construction permits.
