Bulgaria Joins The Memorandum of Understanding

Bulgaria will join the Memorandum of Understanding for a common approach to tackle the challenges of diversification and security of supply of natural gas, the press service of the government announced.

The Council of Ministers approved the draft document and authorized Deputy Energy Minister Anton Pavlov to sign it on behalf of our country. The Memorandum will be signed on July 10 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

The document is part of the initiative for the construction of gas connections in Central and South-eastern Europe between the European Commission, the member states of the High Level Group for gas intersystem connections in Central and South-eastern Europe and the contracting parties of the Energy Community.

Prepared by the European Commission MoU aims at a political framework for a common, coherent and solidarity regional approach to building a natural gas intersystem connection of Central and South-eastern Europe.The Action Plan, which is an annex to the Memorandum, includes a list of 21 projects that are important for gas energy security of Central and Eastern Europe.
