Bulgaria Cuts Kozloduy NPP Production Due to Low Consumption

Due to the low electricity consumption on the territory of the country and the low electricity export part of the production capacities of Bulgaria’s Kozloduy NPP has been suspended. The Electricity System Operator announced that the repaired 1,000 MW unit 5 of Kozloduy NPP would not be loaded at full capacity after being re-commissioned to the energy system.

The current electricity consumption in Bulgaria varies between 3,000 and 4,000 MW, while the export – around 600 MW.
