Bulgargaz Proposes to Cut Q3 Gas Price by 10%

Bulgargaz has proposed to cut natural gas price for consumers by 9.97% for the third quarter of the year due to an expected drop in the price of gas supplies.

The projected price of natural gas for the third quarter is BGN 281.08 per 1,000 cubic metres, a decrease of BGN 31.13 compared with the second quarter, the state-owned Bulgarian gas supplier said on its website on Tuesday.

The price is free of VAT and excise tax. The Energy Law requires Bulgargaz to inform the public about planned changes in the price of natural gas a month before submitting a formal proposal to the Bulgarian water and energy regulator KEVR.

Natural gas price in Bulgaria has been cut by 48% since the start of the 2016.

Bulgaria relies almost entirely on imports of Russian gas to meet its needs.
