BP to Sell Refineries to Expand Gas Station Network

British energy company BP plans to modernize its existing operations through selling some of its refineries, according to international media on Wednesday.

The reports show that revenue from the sale of some of the company’s refineries will be used to modernize and expand the company's network of gas stations.

It was noted that the company could earn additional revenues totaling 2.4 billion pounds ($3 billion).

BP closed last year with $2.5 billion in profits below expectations.

The company's 2015 profit was about $6 billion.

BP agreed last year to pay $20 billion in compensation for the BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010.

BP had previously predicted that crude oil prices would reach $60 per barrel this year, and based on this margin, they are projected to increase profitability.
