Bosnian coal miner and energy producer
RiTE Ugljevik [BANJ:RTEU-R-A] generated 1,269.7
GWh of electricity in the first nine months of
this year, or 5.6% above the planned amount, local
media reported on Thursday.
In September alone, RiTE Ugljevik produced 164.5
GWh of electricity or 3.4% above the monthly plan,
news agency Srna reported.
The agency added that Ugljevik exceeded its
nine-month coal output plan by 3%, producing a
total of 1,440,000 t of coal.
TPP Ugljevik will be entering the winter months
fully prepared with its thermal power plant and
coal mine operationally ready for the season
ahead, Srna said, quoting the TPP's director of
technical affairs.
The company currently has 191,366 t in lignite
stockpiles.
In 2014, RiTe Ugljevik’s power production totalled
1.59 million MWh, 2% above target while coal
production was in line with targets at 1.75
million t.The coal mine and the adjacent power
plant are located in the northeastern part of the
Serb Republic, which together with the
Muslim-Croat Federation makes up Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
