Bosnia's EPBiH 2015 Net Profit Rises Slightly to 1.8 Mln Euro

Bosnian state-controlled power utility Elektroprivreda BiH [SAJ:JPESR] said on Wednesday its net profit edged up to 3.6 million marka ($2 million/1.8 million euro) in 2015 from 3.2 million marka a year earlier.

Operating revenue rose 0.2% to 954.5 million marka in 2015 while operating costs increased to 940.8 million marka from 940.7 million marka, the company said in a filing with the Sarajevo Stock Exchange.

In December, the power utility said it plans to add 1,314 MW to its production capacity by 2023 by investing 4.8 billion marka in the construction of power generation facilities. The biggest portion of new electricity generation capacity, or 1,050 MW, is seen coming from thermal power plant (TPP) construction projects, including those for the construction of Unit 7 at TPP Tuzla and Unit 8 at TPP Kakanj.

EPBiH operates in the Muslim-Croat Federation, one of the two autonomous entities making up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic. It is the biggest of Bosnia’s three power utilities.
