Almost 3,800 Applications for Romania’s Green House Programme

Romanians have submitted almost 3,800 applications for the "Casa Verde” (Green House) programme in the first day after it was launched.

The state is offering funds for people to install or replace conventional heating systems with systems that use renewable energy. The programme began on October 10.

Most applications were recorded in the Prahova county (201) whereas the fewest were seen in the Braila county (36), reports local Agerpres.

The value of the submitted applications amounted to EUR 5 million, more than a third of the programme’s budget for individuals this year. Individuals can still apply for over EUR 8.3 million until October 24.

The programme also has a component for companies. In total, the budget for the Casa Verde programme exceeds EUR 30.5 million.
