All Turkish Cities to Reach Natural Gas

Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) announced on Monday that it will make two more tenders to issue gas distribution licences for 3 new cities, which will make natural gas available for every city in the country

New tenders aim to supply natural gas to northeastern Artvin province on the Georgia border and southeastern Hakkari and Sirnak provinces on the Iraq border.

EMRA will receive tender applications and necessary documents for the tender competence procedure until Feb. 27.

Artvin, Hakkari and Sirnak remained as the only 3 provinces without natural gas link after the latest tenders for eastern cities Agri and Tunceli in Dec. 2016.

The tender for natural gas distribution for Hakkari and Sirnak cities also contains Hakkari's Yuksekova district and Sirnak's Cizre, İdil and Silopi districts.

The winners of the tenders will have the gas distribution rights of the regions for 30 years.
