Albania plans to launch oil
and gas exploration concession procedures for three onshore blocks in the near
future, the country's energy minister Damian Gjiknuri said on Tuesday.
Currently, there are 13 free blocks onshore and offshore Albania where oil and
gas reserves can be sought, Gjiknuri said at the Albania Oil, Gas and Energy
2015 Summit, as quoted in a statement posted on the website of the energy
ministry.
Recent geological surveys show that Albania's oil and gas reserves total more
than 400 million tonnes, some 40 million tonnes of which are still easily
extractable, Gjiknuri added.
