ABB Supplies Inverters to 51 MW Project in Turkey

ABB has provided 46 of its 1,000kW central inverters, which will be housed in concrete cabins in order to meet local requirements and protect the components from harsh conditions on the site. Each of the inverters contains three power module and LCL filter sections, which ABB says ensures redundancy in operation and a smooth output voltage that conforms to national grid standards.

The Kayseri OSB power plant provides power to the industrial park of the same name. The project began with a 6 MW deployment in 2014, which has now expanded to 51 MW. The project is significant for ABB, as it is the first in Turkey to utilize central rather than string inverter technology.

"We have been the primary choice of many PV investors with our solar inverters and package solutions, and have already delivered over 1000 MW of ABB solar inverters to PV projects in Turkey, says Haluk Özgun, Product Marketing Manager for ABB Turkey. "Kayseri OSB is a leading Turkish organization, which believes in solar technology and has completed investments in this field.”
